Privacy Policy

We ask for as little information as we need, we use it only to help you with your smart home project, and we protect it. This page explains how.

1.Who we are

This website, bellavitasmarthome.com, is operated by Bellavita Smart Home, Laxmi Industrial Estate, Suresh Nagar, Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400053, India. We design, supply and install home, hotel, office and building automation. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Bellavita Smart Home.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It is written to follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India.

2.Information we collect

What you give us. We only receive the details you type into our forms:

  • Home page consultation form: name, email, phone number, city, type of project, what you want to automate, services you are interested in and any notes you add.
  • Contact page form: first and last name, email, phone number, organisation (optional), type of enquiry and your message.
  • Catalogue enquiry form: name, phone number, email and city (optional), your message, and the product and options you were looking at.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
  • Calls, WhatsApp and email: if you contact us directly, we keep the messages and the number or address they came from.

What our systems record automatically. When you send a form we also store the date and time, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent text. We use these to stop spam and abuse and to investigate misuse. We do not use them to profile you.

What we do not collect. We do not take payments on this website, so we never see card or bank details. We do not ask for government ID numbers, and we ask you not to send them through the forms.

3.How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quotation and plan a site visit or consultation.
  • To follow up about the products or project you asked about, by phone, WhatsApp or email.
  • To send newsletters, only if you subscribed, and to stop when you unsubscribe.
  • To keep the website safe: spam checks, rate limits and the image security check on our forms.
  • To understand how the site is used and to improve it and our advertising (see Cookies and similar tools below).
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We process your information because you asked us to (by sending an enquiry), because you agreed (for example, to the newsletter), or because we have a genuine business reason that does not override your rights, such as keeping the site secure.

4.Cookies and similar tools

  • Staff login cookie. A signed, secure cookie is set only when our own team signs in to the admin area. Visitors do not receive it.
  • Browser storage. To make the catalogue load faster, your browser may keep a short-lived copy of public catalogue data (product lists and filters). It holds no personal information and disappears when you close the tab.
  • Meta Pixel. We may use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits and the results of our advertising. It can set cookies and send page-view information, such as the page you opened and technical details of your device, to Meta. You can control this in your browser settings, with an ad blocker, or through your Facebook ad preferences.
  • Embedded Google Maps. Pages that show a map load content from Google, which may set its own cookies. See Google’s privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. The site still works, although embedded maps and advertising measurement may not.

5.Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and the business, and only as much as they need:

  • Hosting and delivery: Vercel, which serves the website.
  • Database: a managed PostgreSQL database service, where enquiries and newsletter sign-ups are stored.
  • File storage: Cloudflare R2, which stores product pictures (no personal data).
  • Email: an email delivery service used to send enquiry notifications to our team and confirmations to you.
  • Advertising and measurement: Meta, as described above.
  • Messaging: if you tap a WhatsApp button, WhatsApp opens with a message we have pre-written and handles it under its own policy.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect our rights, our customers or the safety of the site. If our business is ever sold or merged, your information may move to the new owner under the same protections.

6.Where your information is stored

Some of our providers run servers outside India. When your information is handled abroad, we rely on providers that apply recognised security standards and contractual protections. By sending a form you understand that your information may be processed in those locations.

7.How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and leads: while we are working with you, and then for up to 3 years so we can support you and answer follow-up questions, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
  • Customers: project records and invoices for as long as tax and accounting law require.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
  • Spam and security records: entries we flag as spam or invalid are kept only as long as they are useful for fraud prevention, and may be deleted at any time.

8.How we protect it

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), signed admin sessions, rate limiting, image and bot checks on our forms, server-side input validation, parameterised database queries and restricted access to our database and admin tools. We do not take card or bank details on this website. Product pictures are watermarked.

No system is completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

9.Your rights and choices

Under Indian law you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information, unless we must keep it by law;
  • stop sending you marketing, including newsletters (write to us at any time and we will unsubscribe you);
  • withdraw a consent you gave earlier, and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.

Email info@bellavitasmarthome.com from the address you used with us. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. We aim to respond within 30 days.

10.Children

The website is meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us details, write to us and we will delete them.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on the website.

13.Contact and grievances
